People ask me what tools I prefer or use when it comes to programming or scripting. I always answer it depends: what system do I have with me at the time, what am I trying to accomplish. These aren’t the only tools I use, I usually have the mindset of whatever it takes to get the job done. I’ve been known to use paper and pencil to pseudo code and even code.
Staple Tools
Windows:
Dreamweaver, Notepad, Notepad++, command prompt, Visual Studio, Aptana (I think it is kinda big and bloated, but I have used it and its free)
Mac:
Dreamweaver, TextMate, TextEdit, Terminal (vi)
*nix:
vi, emacs, eclipse
